Join Us
Rotary is not what most people think it is. It is not stuffy, it is not a boys’ club, and you do not need to be wealthy or retired. We are a mix of people in and around Stevenage who like each other’s company and wanted to do something useful with it. If you have ever thought you would like to give something back but were not sure how, this is how.
What Membership Is Really Like
We meet on Monday evenings at the Cromwell Hotel, over dinner. Some evenings we plan a project or vote on a donation. Some evenings a charity comes to tell us what they do. Some evenings we just eat together, because a club that does not enjoy its own company does not last.
Across the year you might find yourself pushing an illuminated sleigh around Stevenage in December, running a tombola at a county fair, or standing outside a supermarket with a bucket. None of it is heavy. All of it adds up
Why People Join, and Why They Stay
People join to give something back. They stay for the people they meet doing it.
Membership connects you to a worldwide network of over a million Rotarians, but week to week it is much simpler than that: good company, a shared purpose, and the satisfaction of seeing exactly where your effort goes, whether that is a sensory room in a local school or sight restored on the other side of the world, or a classroom built for a poor local community. That is finding purpose.
Come and Meet Us
The best way to find out if Rotary is for you is to come to a meeting as our guest, with no obligation. Get in touch, and we will make you welcome.
